off to vaca

There won't be any new post for a week or so as we are headed to Mina's for a vacation. I will have lots of pics when we get back.

First date with Savannah

I have a tradition of taking the kids on a date to buy all their school supplies, an outfit for the first day and to lunch. Savannah and I went on Saturday. It was fun to spend one on one time with her. She is growing up way to fast and I am constantly amazed at how mature she is. We went into four stores to find the right outfit. She must have tried on three outfits in each store. She loves to try on clothes. We finally found the right one at Old Navy. Then we went to a hibachi for lunch and then to Target for the supplies. She had in her mind that she wanted a messenger style bag, but it had to be smaller because it needs to fit in her locker. We looked at Old Navy, Kids Gap, Children's Place, and Target and found nothing. Our last stop was at TJ Maxx and she found the perfect purple, pink and black bag. She's all set. I will post pics of her first day on Aug 12.

Our one year anniversary

This weekend has me feeling nostalgic. It was one year ago, July 18 that our family was sealed together for time and all eternity. It was one year ago that I covenanted to be a celestial mother and wife and to give my best to my family.

I have been thinking about all the hearts that were in that room with us and all the faces that sacrificed so much to attend. All the faces who have become family to us, all the people who love us and celebrated that day with us.

I can't think of that day and not smile. My heart is full to overflowing with gratitude, love and inexpressible thanks to all those who set such a good example to us, who befriended us with no questions or expectations, who showed us love and service. Especially to a loving Heavenly Father who has shown us how we can be families forever.

I love my family. I am honored that I get to be a part of their lives and watch them grow. I love my husband. I love who he was, who he is and who he will become. I love seeing him interact with each of our children. I love that he loves me for who I am.

I love that I never have to say goodbye to them. They are mine. Forever.

don't hate

I'm trying to love this new blogger template design stuff, but I just can't. I want the old style back. How do I get back to normal where I can copy and paste and it's all cute? This is making me crazy!!!!!

Mom's big helper

Hunter loves, loves, loves the vacuum. He also loves the broom, the mop, and the dustpan. He gets more like his dad all the time.

I copied these pics off my friends blog. This is the damage from standing on our slate patio.

I had numerous dreams last night, all of them ending up with someone getting burned. It was awful. On three seperate occasions I found myself bolting up in bed to try and save someone from being burned. It's haunting me.

We had some friends over today to play and around lunchtime the kids wanted to go back outside. We sent them out and put the two babies outside too. About 3 minutes later, her little boy knocked on our backdoor and I told her to get him cause the slate tiles on our patio get pretty warm. He had to have only been standing there for 10, maybe 15 seconds. When she picked him up, she looked at his feet and the skin looked like it had been melted off. We immediately put them in the sink and ran cold water over them.

She had to take him to the ER. He has 2nd degree burns on the soles of both his feet and won't be walking for at least a week. They have to put special antibiotic cream on twice a day and keep them wrapped in gauze. I feel just terrible. Poor little guy.

I can't imagine an 18 month old boy not being allowed to walk. I don't have any idea how she is going to keep him from standing. Did I already mention how awful I feel?

Indy Motor Speedway

We got super lucky at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They were doing a special tour of the track that is only offered 63 days of the year. We were able to go around the track, stop at the famous "brickyard", kiss the bricks, see the pagoda, media rooms, Gasoline Alley, and museum. It was a really neat, behind the scenes look at the track. I am sure Ben would tell you this was the highlight of his mini-vaca.

Indy Children's Museum

As you can see...we had a very fun day. Dad and Austin loved the science lab, Savannah and I loved the Barbie, A Fashion experience, and Hunter loved the water table.
