The next Chapter

Well, I went to talk to my OBGYN yesterday about having my IUD removed so that Ben and I could start trying for another baby. I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but we are really excited and think that the Lord has prepared us for this.

When I went in, they were unable to find my IUD. I kind of guessed that maybe it had come out back in December because I had some really intense cramping one day and then no period, just some yucky buggerish discharge. (Sorry if that is too much detail for some of you!) We discussed all our options and because of my history of not ovulating on my own, my Dr. prescribed me Clomid. (Which is what I had to go on in order to get our lovely Savannah.) Luckily my cycle had started on Monday, so I will be able to take it starting tomorrow if that is what Ben and I decide. Otherwise, we may wait a month or two (or three).

The idea of having a third child seemed so daunting and challenging that I was prepared to just be content with what we had, but seeing all my wonderful girlfriends here and back home having their third or fourth baby gave me the courage to finally seek the advice of Heavenly Father and humble myself and tell him that if he would like to bless us with another child, that we would be open and ready to receive it.

After much fasting and prayer, our hearts and minds have been prepared for this next chapter.

It is really exciting and I know the kids would be just ecstatic to have another brother or sister. This will however throw off the perfect balance of 3 boy and 3 girl grandchildren on Ben's side, but I think Frank and Caroline will be perfectly okay with that. My mom is also getting a new grandchild this year as Mina is due with her fourth in June. She is having a boy so the numbers aren't the same on my side.

I will keep you posted and let you know whenever we hear good news.

Love,

Where do I begin???

It has been a long time since I have posted and it is because alot of happened in these past two weeks, yet nothing of real interest.

Ben finally went to see the dr. after 3 weeks of feeling lousy and all he had was a slight sinus infection. A few days of antibiotics and he is finally feeling better. He is still coughing, but I think everyone one in the great state of Nevada is coughing. This bug is a killer.

Austin was finally able to use the money Grandma and Grandpa sent him for his birthday to buy a pair of Crocs. Let it be known that I think they are ugly, but "everyone wears them" and they are really comfortable so I caved. It was his money and if this is what he wanted, who am I to tell him otherwise. I found them on sale at Costco and he had enough to buy two pairs so he bought one for Savannah. He is a very generous brother and she is greatful.

Savannah is signed up for an art class that starts in March and goes for 6 weeks . It meets twice a week at the local community center and she is really excited. I also got a pass for the indoor pool so we can start practicing our swimming for this summer.

I am doing good. I am not ready for swimsuit season. I had better start hitting the gym harder.

Valentine's Day!

I hope all of you had a great Valentine's Day. We did.

I intended to make heart shaped pancakes yesterday. I got everything ready and then WAM, no heart cookie cutter. So I improvised and we had Valentine Angel and Valentine Star pancakes.

Austin had a whole day of celebrating in his class and came home with more candy than he did on Halloween. He has a special girl in his class named Naomi and he got her a special lollipop and card, it was really sweet.

Savannah had dance class yesterday. She passed out Barbie's 12 Dancing Princesses valentine cards to all the little girls in her class and her teachers and they were a huge hit.

I got Ben a card and thanked him for giving me so many new reasons to love him and for helping to make all my dreams come true.

I however didn't get anything. I am not complaining because I specifically told Ben not to get me anything, so at about 8pm I had to run to the gas station and buy myself a King Size Snickers with Almonds because I realized it just wasn't Valentine's without chocolate. Then I babysat for my friend from 8-11pm so that they could go see a magic show.

We did get to have a yummy dinner together after Ben and Austin got home from basketball practice so that was nice.

Hope you were able to spend yesterday with those you love.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, Spring!

Just had to take a moment to gloat and tell you all it was almost 70 yesterday and it was awesome!

Wait, did you say it is still freezing and snowing where you live? Oh, that sucks!

sick, sick, sick

We have been sick for what feels like forever. First Austin came down with the 48 hour flu a little over a week ago. He got it Sunday morning and by Tuesday morning he was fine. It was a high fever and body aches. Then the following Friday, Ben came down with it. His temp was really high for an adult and he moaned everytime he would move. His lasted til Sunday afternoon. Then Tuesday, Savannah got it. Hers lasted a little longer, til Saturday. But then we all got a cold. Stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, you name it. I only had it for about 24 hours and as soon as my throat started to hurt I busted out Grandpa's vinegar and honey and it was gone by the next day.

Ben and Savannah are still coughing and stuffy, but Austin and I are all better. Thank goodness.

Hopefully we will all be better by the end of the week!

Look mom, no cavities!

Austin, Savannah and I all had dentist appointments today and we all checked out with no cavities, hooray! I can't get Ben to go no matter how many times I bring it up. I am not going to nag him to take care of himself.
The kids did great! Savannah was really nervous and I had to lay in the chair and she laid on top of me, but she was fine.
Austin was such a big boy and just went back without me. Unfortunately, he has picked up on my terrible habit of grinding my teeth and Dr. Lin said he does it too. I am not sure what to do to get him to stop.
She tried to get me to agree to a 400.00 night guard which is out of the question and then she offered to do porcelin veneers (sorry my spell check isn't working at the moment) at the discounted cost of 1200.00 a tooth. I told her no thanks.

Other than that, everything is good. I had lots of company last week and it was so great to get to spend some time with Helena and Rachel. Thanks to both of you for making time to come out and see us. It means alot. I miss you.
