I've created a monster!

For the past week or so, I have found Savannah sitting at the computer looking at Old Navy.com, Gymboree.com, and ChildrensPlace.com

She is looking at all the clothes under the girls tabs and putting them in her "shopping bag" to show me later. Each shopping bag has a couple hunderd dollars worth of clothes, shoes, coats, dresses, tights and bags. I'm in so much trouble. She is definately my girlie girl.

Mission Accomplished!

If you look back to my first post of 2009 you will see I only set one goal for myself this year. The only thing I wanted to accomplish was learning how to make bread for my family. Today, Brandy came over and spent a better part of the day walking me through it. It turned out wonderfully and I can't wait to do it again next Thursday. I think that is going to be my bread making day. Here are some pictures of my handy work!

Day of rest... literally

I was so tired after church yesterday I could barely boil water for Mac and cheese. Hunter and I laid down at 1pm for a nap. He got up a time or two and at 4:30 he was ready to play. I brought him out to Ben and the kids and I climbed back in bed. Ben brought him back to me at 6 and he ate again. I finally got up and made dinner for the fam, watched tv and was back in bed and asleep by 10:30.

Hunter decided last night that a pacifier (mimi, as we call them) was an okay substitue for me. I still had to get up and put it back in, but I will take them over getting him out of bed, going to the LR, feeding him, putting him back down and then getting myself something to drink anyday! I feel better than I have in weeks, possibly months! I did feed him at 3am and then again at 7am, but compared to every hour for the past 4 nights, I was in heaven.

Fever Rash?

I had to take Hunter in to the dr's today because he woke up with a red bumpy rash all over his torso, chin area, legs and arms. The Dr said it was a viral fever rash and should only last a couple days. Everyone else seems to be doing okay, so hopefully this will be it for a while! We'll see!

a proud moment

Today, while I was making dinner, I wondered where Austin was. I found him sitting in the living room reading a Frog and Toad book, just for fun. I almost cried. I really wanted him to know the joy of getting lost in a good book. I wanted him to develop a love of reading and value the written word and the adventure it can take you on. I am grateful.

Good-bye to being 4!

Savannah's birthday is tomorrow and she can't wait to wake up and be 5. Not sure if she thinks it will feel any different than 4 but we'll see.

Austin's first four letter word

Let me paint the scene for you-

He is sitting on the couch watching reruns of the old Pink Panther cartoons on Boomerang. The kids were laughing and all of a sudden I hear, "Oh sh*t! That's funny." It took about two seconds for it to register. I asked him what he said and he tells me, "That's funny." I say before that. He gets that deer in the headlights look on his face and I calmly tell him that words like that are not okay and asked him where he heard it. School. His buddy Clayton says it.

I had a hard time not laughing out loud. It was just so out of the blue and every time I think of it, I still snicker a little. AAHHH, parenthood.
