The class was at the Green Valley Baptist Church. If something like this had been offered at our church, you all would have been invited. It was 25.00 for per person, or two for 40.00. It was my b-day present from Tanya! Yea, being 30 is great!
You can go to Shari's blog, I put a link from mine and check out what it would take to have her come speak to you or your group.
Thanks again, Tanya, you gave me the gift of knowledge.
Price of Shari's book - 13.00
Price of Shari's class-25.00
Price of learning how to feel good about your body - Priceless!

moving time
Yep, it's that time again. We move into the next house this weekend. I am about 50% boxed up and then I figure the rest (dishes, clothes, pots and pans, etc...) I can just move from one cupboard to the next. It won't be easy, but it should be smooth. Ben went water skiing yesterday and on his last run, he wiped out, hard. He thinks he tore a muscle in his abdominal wall, so he won't be doing to much heavy lifting this weekend. I will put in an SOS to the Elders Quorum for help on Sat. afternoon. Now that I think of it, he could be faking it to get out of having to help this weekend. Yep, I am sure that is it! :) Just kidding.
I will post pics next week of the house all put together, but until then, I won't be blogging until I get everything put away. Have a good weekend!

what not to wear
I went with my girlfriend Tanya this weekend to the greatest class. It was offered at her church. It was a class called What Not to Wear but on by a Christian speaker named Shari Braendel.
http://www.sharibraendel.com/
It was AWESOME! She taught us about what body shape we are (I am an H) and how to best dress it and hide our problem areas. She addressed what accessories are good, what colors are good, what shoes are good. It was great. I learned more about accepting my body and dressing it and making it look good in this one afternoon then I have in all my life. She also talked about recognizing that our bodies are perfect because God made them especially for us. She shared her testimony about how she came to find Jesus and accept him as her Savior and what happened in her life to lead her to where she is now.
She also talked alot about modesty and the importance in making sure that we don't send the wrong message to people by how we look. It was great. She is a lovely person and you should check out her website. Especially if you have daughters!

Hobbies
I need some suggetions. My mom is looking for something new and fun to do to keep her busy during these long winter months. Do any of you have any suggestions? What does your mom do with her spare time? Leave a comment with any suggestions you might have. She is open to trying lots of different stuff, so nothing is out of the question. Thanks for your help!

Hooray!
Just wanted to give everyone an update. We finally found a place that would let us do a short term lease. It is only about a mile from where we live now. We are happy it has a backyard with real grass. The kids were so excited to see grass, they were running all over the backyard. It is a little smaller than the house we are currently renting, but it will be good for me to have to go through everything as we are packing and trim down some of the unessential junk we have accumulated over the 17 months living here.
How sad it is this! This house will be the 5th house Savannah has lived in since she was born. She isn't even 4 yet! Oh well, maybe 2009 will see us getting settled.

ssssssssssspeech
Savannah started speech therapy this week and I think she is going to do great. Mrs. H gave her homework and things for us to work on at home and I think once we get in the swing of doing it everyday, she will blossom.
Still no word on finding a place to move to. Not sure what to do really. We had a lead and thought it was ours for the taking, but someone beat us to it and we are left with nothing. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be.
Will keep you posted.

Date night
We decided that once a month we will spend an evening alone with each of the kids. Tonight I got to go see Clone Wars with Austin and it was really fun. He was a perfect gentleman, opened the doors for me, held my hand, said thank you and I even got a kiss at the end of the night. I have to say, Ben will have a hard time competing with Austin. This was the best date I have had in the past year. Ben and Savannah stayed home, but apparently they had a good time. She was sad to have Austin and I come home. I guess Ben is a good date after all, but I wouldn't know, I can't remember the last time we had one. (HINT HINT!!!)

the roller coaster
The roller coaster began pretty smooth, a nice trip to Iowa to see family and we (Ben and I) both get the feeling like we want to move and we both feel really good about Oklahoma. Then we get back and get ready for school and we get 2 notices from the HOA that we left our garage door open for more than a couple minutes and suddenly the roller coaster takes a small dip, but nothing too bad. Our second notice said that we need to pull the weeds in our yard, all 3 of them.
Okay, for a week or so, we let ourselves believe that we are actually going to move to OK and be able to buy a home and settle down and put down roots. Again, the roller coaster was at a peak. Then weeks go by and the job doesn't post like we were told it would. (I can feel it going down. ) Then we get a letter stating that the house we have been renting for the past 17 months is getting foreclosed and we will need to move out. (Black tunnel at the bottom of this dip in the ride).
All the emotions and energy that go into trying to find a new place to rent, one that will let us sign only a 6 month lease and one in the same ward and school boundaries is hard. We have had no luck. Then, our homeowner calls and says the house is NOT being foreclosed, there was some "bank error" and that it is fine, we can stay, really, no problems. (Small peaks and valleys on this part of the ride). Do we believe her? Do we stay and hope that she is telling us the truth?
We are still hopeful that the OK plant will open up and because we aren't in a lease right now, and we can just up and go. However, Austin and Savannah are doing really well in school right now. Savannah is finally getting the speech therapy she needs and she LOVES her preschool and Austin is doing great in 1st grade and has a ton of friends and loves his teacher and so an equal part of me thinks we should try and stay until spring. (I am not sure if this is an up or down, because I don't know the results, I am not sure how this will end.)
I guess for now, this is where we are. We think we will try and stay in this house because nothing else is available and it seems like this is where we are being told to stay. I will let you know when I finally get off this ride and get my feet back on solid ground. Until then, the only advice I have been given is enjoy the ride! I am trying.

I got a new calling
I got a call from Brother West on Wednesday night and he asked if I would come up to the church because he wanted to talk to me about a new calling. Any guesses?
I will tell you on Sunday. Check for a comment from me Sunday afternoon!
